Before moving to Japan I ordered SIMs for cell service through MOBAL because our time here was going to be right at a year or a few months over. I have recently learned our stay is getting extended by 18 months. So I am considering switching to a Japanese carrier with more local support, although limited English for sure. But a few do offer some call support in English. I was curious what people recommend and who they are using with the best service and support. My Japanese is limited, although I am still taking language classes. Thanks for any recommendations yall may have.

LINEMO is doable from the comfort of your web browser.
SoftBank if you are ever hoping to talk to a human being.
Or stay with MOBAL because changing the phone number is such a PITA. They don’t port numbers.
