my school does an exchange program and i got really close with one of the students but it’s difficult talking to her over messages because of the language barrier. they left a few weeks ago and although we talk sometimes its hard to hold a conversation
she barely knows english, and i barely know japanese but we’re both learning them.
i want to talk to her more but i don’t know what people in japan text like, or what questions to ask to start conversations. does anyone have any tips or suggestions on what to learn from? i feel like my textbook japanese i’m learning in school won’t help much
i can understand very basic level japanese and because we talk online i have the benefit of translaters although i cant trust that they will communicate what i want to say fully
so what im asking is if theres anywhere i can look to find out more about how to text in japanese, and also what to say to start/hold conversations
