*Is Universal Studios worth visiting?*
*I can add more on instead of going back to Tokyo – am I missing anything?*

I think you should let yourself have more free time to wander and be flexible.
It’s absolutely nuts to me to have each hour planned for weeks, no matter what country you’re in.
You may not want to go to universal studios on a weekend 🙁
* shift Nikko earlier in your trip to catch better foliage
* USJ on a weekend sounds awful
* Kiyomizudera should be seen before 7am, you couldn’t pay me to do a 10am start. Ditto Arashiyama bamboo grove. In general the Kyoto days are starting far too late.
* worth visiting: entirely subjective to individual interests. Mine: Kanazawa yes, Kobe no (just a generic city for business, night view is nice though), Hiroshima if you are interested in atomic bomb stuff (Miyajima is always worth visiting).

Museums / Park Day? Buffer if I’ve missed anything else to do
Most museums, art galleries, and parks with entrance fees in Tokyo, including Shinjuku Gyoen, are typically closed on Mondays. So, please be mindful when planning your schedule.
Yeesh I’m exhausted just trying to read this.
We did 3 weeks in japan and just did Tokyo, Hakune, Osaka, and Kyoto and we were exhausted and still didn’t see everything we wanted to in those areas.
I would recommend keeping it more simple.
