Is sickness allowance (傷病手当) continued when changing company?

I’m considering changing company in the coming weeks, but the result of my annual check-up is quite concerning. I think in Japan, we have sickness allowance which basically gives 60% of monthly salary for 18 months.

My question is, if I were to change company, and would need to take medical leave on my new job, will I be eligible to take the sickness allowance as soon as possible? Or do I need to work at the new company for a specific number of months?
