I move to Tokyo in January. I am losing a crazy amount of hair ever since. I am currently using Minoxidil and finasteride for the past 3 months. But, I still lose a lot of hair while taking a bath.
As many people here have mentioned, the water quality in Tokyo is known to be hard and chlorinated. So I purchased this shower filter from Amazon:

However, this filter doesn’t seem to work.
Could you guys please let me know if any Shower filter/water softerner or hard water shampoo worked for you?

You only started using those products the last three months? Do a little research they are know to make it worse before it get better.
Curious to know this too, it has become a real issue in our house. Tried the filters but made no difference.
I’ve tried everything to figure out the cause, testing for thyroid issues, changing diets etc. However I’m now quite certain it’s the water and I’ve been experimenting for the past few months – have gone few days without showering(a week once!) and it was very noticeable that the hair loss only occurs about 48hrs after washing hair.
