Hello! My husband and I are from Singapore, and we will be visiting Japan next week. We’re thinking of buying gifts for some of the owners of places we will be visiting (eg, a pottery studio, farms) etc.
What would be an appropriate gift? We’re thinking of local food products (like jams and cooking pastes) but not sure if it’ll be well-received.
Thank you for your help!

Kaya jam. Unique and they love it. Other ideas include pandan, gula melaka, salted egg chips, bakkwa, instant bah kut teh etc.
