   EDIT: two women held hostage as of 6pm, and the dude seems to be in his 80s.

   EDIT : one of the hostages has been released.

7. I find it really frustrating watching hundreds of Japanese police bumble around anytime there’s a situation, violent or not. For the sake of the hostages, I hope this old dude gives himself up, because I wouldn’t fancy the police to take any proactive action.
