Grounding in Japan with music gear

I recently bought a pedal power supply which had the little green ground wire attached, the casing is metal so I’m trying to take proper precautions to ground it.

The only useable outlet is the 3 prong (w ground screw) AC outlet high up on the wall

Im wondering if I buy a surge protecter/power strip with 3 prongs, will that ground connection pass on to the appliances i plug into said surge protecter?

Sure, if the plug end also has a green plug to go with it? i.e. something like this https://www.monotaro.com/g/01410510/

  2. Wouldn’t connecting just the earth terminal be safer? You can get 5 or 10m extensions for that connection.

I’ll connect the power supply cable and the extension with a wago because it’s really easy to use.

Edit: If you don’t want to modify the power supply cable. Get a extension cord which has a ground connection screw. Extend the ground cable from the extension cord to your AC outlet.

The AC outlet may use a higher voltage / amperage which is why I don’t want to dabble with it.

  3. Not a pedal but I have a ROG pc bought in america and I’ve been using it with a BF converter not made for japan and a converter back to japan because I have no three pronged outlets and nothing has started on fire.

    What’s the voltage?
