Hi all,
Thanks to many wonderful posts on this forum, I think I finally have my final itinerary planned! Figured I would share my own trip for future people who are struggling to plan like I was, especially since most travel is oriented around the wonderful public transit system. Of course, any advice is still welcome.
Background: Been to Japan 3 times, but first time with toddler (3yo). Basic Japanese skills (Genki 2). Initially, I wanted to explore Tohoku, but after looking at driving times to get around (ie. Akita), I decided to limit the locations to minimize long drives. It will be my first time driving!

In Aomori, I imagine even a todler would like the Nebuta Warasse (museum). The lighted up floats are amazing. Hirosaki. its park, and castle area, would be incredible for sakura season. However, the castle itself, while authentic, is small and, at the moment, not in its original place dues to restoration of the wall it usually sits on. The park itself is pleasant but underwhelming when not in bloom. I’d stay in Aomori if I had the choice.
Strange. Re-added itinerary items — not sure if missing earlier, but wasn’t there just now.
