Why do they need to spend so much on a military in the first place? They are allies with America, who has the biggest and strongest military in the world with a fully functional base in your country. They are technically allies with South Korea and the Philippines. If China or someone launched a full scale attack they would have a lot of support. If my dad was Jason Bourne, my mom was Amanda Nunes, and my best friends were Mike Tyson and John Wick I would have little to no motivation to go to the gym or learn karate.
