Hi!
I just started feeling some itching on my neck today and got a bit worried about bed bugs/etc. since I’ve been staying at a friends place while looking for an apartment.
I found this bug on my (friends) Tatami when I came home, and I took a picture of the bites too.
Is it possible that it’s just a rash and the bug is unrelated? I only found the one after looking through the madress/bedding.

It’s something unrelated to that bug. It’s not a biting bug.
Maybe just got to a 内科 or 皮膚科 and have the rash checked out. I doubt anyone here has the expertise to answer your questions competently.
I don’t think it’s related to the bug.
But does anyone here knows what bug it is and what to do about them? I have them too – although no tatami in the apartment and also not having any rash or bites (so that’s why I think they don’t bite).
Dani are tiny. That isn’t a Dani.
If you start getting Dani bites, it’s an absolute pain to get rid of them. We have been through the process a couple of times. (Involves spraying inside every tatami mat in the house. Washing and machine drying EVERY item of clothes and bedding you own. Heat treating your mattress and futons, bug bombing the whole house)
