Hiki(匹) counter used for effect?

In this one piece clip Sanji had his wacky nosebleed and said美女がー匹。Why’d he use 匹 here? Is it used for effect, and why does it produce it? Or is there some context I’m missing?

  1. Sounds a bit denigrating to me since this is the counter usually used for animals.

  2. He says 「美女が一匹、美女が二匹、美女が三匹」 which to me echoes the counting of sheep 「羊が一匹、羊が二匹、羊が三匹」using 匹 as the appropriate counter. I understand that echoing to indicate his reduced level of consciousness as a result of overexposure to beautiful women and the associated blood loss from the consequent nosebleed.

Basically, he’s been knocked silly by too many attractive women.

(Edit: there are other ways it can be used to effects like comparing people to small animals for one reason or another, but I don’t get those senses here.)
