Does TransferWise not work with JP Bank?

I haven’t found this problem on this subreddit or anywhere, yet.

I’m trying to send cash from my American bank to JP Bank but instead of paying $200 in fees I thought about Wise. When I entered JP Bank’s SWIFT code I got a message saying Wise doesn’t send money to this bank. Has anyone else had this problem?

EDIT: Yeah, you guys are right, I was a dumb dumb. I used the BIC code. That fixed it. Thanks!

  1. I regularly send money to my JP bank from Wise, so it’s very much possible. Sorry if I don’t have other details.

  2. I do it all the time but I use the actual bank details instead of the SWIFT code. Give that a try.

  3. Transferwise uses local bank transfers, you don’t need to enter any SWIFT info.

  4. Swift isn’t used in Japan, that’s your problem. Add the Japanese bank details.

  5. I send several thousand usd worth of money through wise to My JP post bank monthly. It’s likely inputted some information incorrectly.
