Hi all! I’m an English Language Arts teacher in the Midwest of America. I’m teaching Sakaya Murata’s *Convenience Store Woman* to high school students next week, and I wanted to front-load with some context. Can anyone recommend a good short documentary that I can get my hands on to give my students some ideas of the particulars of the lives of women in contemporary Japan? Much thanks!

I lived in Japan about a decade ago for about a year. Since then I've done well for myself in the music industry and have been signed to a major. Over the course of the last decade I've grown so tired of the my country and feel the need to return. Are there visas for artists?

https://youtu.be/s_Z9AamH4XM?si=7E5W1mFQDOUSZHve – this is an interview with Murata herself.

otherwise I would be keyword searching for what you are looking for on Youtube. I didn’t see any documentaries (from notable channels) directly about CSW in comparison with current affairs. But I hope these are helpful!!
