3 Days in Osaka – Itinerary Check

Hi everyone, I love this group and it has been so helpful. I’ve created a rough draft on what my fiance and I can do in Osaka, with the 2-day Osaka Amazing Pass for the 3 days we are there on our honeymoon before moving onto Kyoto, Nara, Tokyo and Kawaguchiko. I will probably post itinerary checks for them as well eventually. Like I said, this has been based on making the most our of the Amazing Osaka Pass as it’s such great value. Would love to hear your critiques, compliments or recommendations. I’m scared I’ve over planned too much, but feel free to let me know! I do have questions too!

**November 24th – November 27th: Osaka**

* **November 24th**: Land in KIX at 9:30am, Kuromon Ichiba Market, Namba Nanan Town, Den Den Town, and Dotonbori Street / Shinsaibashi
* **November 25th**: Osaka Castle / Park & Osaka-Jo Gozabune Boat, Kaiyukan Osaka Aquarium, Tempozan Ferris Wheel, Kuromon Ichiba Market, Osaka Museum of Housing and Living, Kita District, and Umeda Sky Building / Shopping Arcade
* **November 26th**: Osaka Castle / Park & Osaka-Jo Gozabune Boat, Shitennoji Temple, Osaka Tennoji Zoo, Tsutenkaku Tower, Tower Slider (will have to pay), TeamLab Botanical Garden @ 6 or 7pm, and Tombori River Jazz Boat
* **November 27th**: Depart Osaka for Kyoto in the morning

**Questions**

As you can tell, we would likely activate the pass on the second day in Osaka, so we can get an early start. I should also mention that we will be staying at a riverside airbnb in Namba, pretty much on the river – around 15mins walk to Dotonburi. So, we would probably go there every night to get the most out of it aha. Kyoto will not be as crammed, so we can spend time relaxing out our ryokan, and ride bikes at our leisure.

* Have a jam packed too many attractions? Especially on the day we arrive or is it do able? I didn’t know if we could fit in much shopping on the other days so I thought we could explore the area near us.
* Are they optimised according to location and accessibility?
* You can see I have Osaka Castle in both days because I’m not sure where it fits better, in the northen attractions or southern? What is your advice? I don’t think we would be going into the castle. Mainly just to see it and the park, then take the boat in the moat.
* I’m not sure if they havent released tickets for the Tombori River Jazz Boat yet as I can’t see any past the 19th Nov. Regardless, do you recommend this or one of the other cruises on the Osaka Amazing Pass list?
* Would recommend buying a ticket for TeamLabs Botanical for 6pm or 7pm, according to this itinerary or your own experience?
* Do you have any other advice?

Sorry if this is just absolutely crazy (please don’t be too harsh), I am trying my best and trying do as much research as possible! Would love to finalise this and move onto Kyoto 🙂

Thank you in advance!

  1. Is there a reason you chose to stay in Osaka and Kyoto separately? I personally think they are so easy to travel between that the less unpacking/repacking, check-in/check-out, and moving with suitcases you have to do, the better.
