It looks gross but looks can be deceiving. The salmon looks brown.
I don’t like gatekeeping who can and can’t make food.
You don’t have to be Canadian to make poutine. You don’t have to be Japanese to make sushi.
That being said, I’m not getting traditional/authentic vibes here.
While I’m a bit of a purist, deep fried maki always makes me smile.
That may taste good but that is not really sushi lol
It looks more like a generic Asian food place
The rolls look more like korean Gimbap
The noodles look like Generic attempt at Ramen (Egg is hard boiled)
The and the soup looks like typical Chinese Wanton soup
looks fucking delicious. what’s the wontons? pork or shrimp?
that hard boiled egg is an eye sore to authenticity
Kinda looks like bibimbap and phon for second
Looks absolutely delicious!
That looks like the bees knees to me!
The noodle soup is giving me pho/ramen fusion with those bean sprouts and fish cake lol
Looks pretty good. Except maybe the ramen. I see lot of bean sprout
Looks good, but doesn’t look that Japanese.
This restaurant is not owned by Japanese.
Raw spinach and bean sprouts in “ramen”, wonton soup. This is not a sushi place.
I don’t think it’s Japanese owned tho. How ramen topping is plated and the way the roll looks makes me think Japanese Japanese place would not do it like this
Probably Korean owned Japanese restaurant would be my guess
baby spinach on a ramen though … 🤮
Im going to have to be the negative one and say it looks unappetizing. The egg looks over cooked, that cake looks like some Costco BS that’s probably way too sugar packed, and you say it’s salmon, but it looks more like tuna 🤔. That pork looks like gellatin
For reference: I live in Germany and just had sushi last night. I feel like I am getting diabetes just looking at that cake. Cake like that does not exist here
Edit: took out the deep fried part as maybe that is normal
Edit 2: now I feel bad for being negative as my wife thinks it looks good (except the cake)
I think they need some crockery.
my thoughts are that its owned by Chinese
That looks very much like Japanese food outside of Japan, without even knowing the exact place.
I live in Japan and i wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole 😆. The sushi looks good tho. The wanna be ramen is a disaster with so much moyashi and wonton is Chinese food. The owners are for sure Chinese. Cake is 🤮
I’m sorry man it just looks pretty bad
It has already been said a couple of times that it doesn’t look very Japanese… but what’s with this plastic plates?
I think I would like to know the name and address of the restaurant lol
Don’t look Japanese except the crappy version of sushi
Looks pretty terrible!
Sushi looks good. Rest looks a bit bland
Food looks good, but obviously not authentic
Looks pretty average.
Doesn’t look Japanese, as many have said. But looks like some Asian fusion deal. And I’m glad you liked it! I imagine a lot of Americans would enjoy this.
I don’t like rolls that are too big to eat in one bite, I like to taste all the flavors together, not one flavor in one bite, and other flavors in the second bite.
That egg looks dry af, and I see you got the traditional japanese cake slice with sprinkles too.
If a Japanese restaurant served me this I would call the cops
More importantly how did it taste?
Looks similar to what my local Pho restaurant sells
I’m rather envious at the moment.
You were quite hungry. I’ll also agree doesn’t exactly look inspired so depends where you set the bar.
