Thanks to the subreddit for all your tips & tricks, I believe I did better on my 2nd try!


Used less rice, less nori paper, more and bigger fillings and really tried to squeeze while rolling, still a lot to learn but in my opinion it looks and tastes like an improvement, thanks for all the feedback!

(FYI the maki roll at the bottom is made with crabmeat and kewpie hence why it looks a bit weird there)

  1. It looks yummy. I don’t want to be that guy but try to get the rolls more circular? Or some square them off a bit. Hosomaki can look great as a tear drop with filling to an edge. If it looks uniform and on purpose then people will think a pro did it.

    Honestly the first one doesn’t look bad at all but there’s definitely an improvement. So good job!
