My father in-law passed away a few months ago, so I’m looking at building my wife a little shrine for the home like her grandmother had for her late husband. Are there any places I can see online or even on here so that I can see them so I can try to get a good match/design.

I’ve seen some for sale at home depot-type places, but unless you give us more information (such as the city where you live) it will be really difficult to offer more suggestions…
There are a special stores where you can buy them, or even at department stores. Google butsudan / 仏壇
There are some decent quality, albeit overpriced, kamidana, butsudan, accessories, and such on Amazon.
Otherwise I believe you’d be hard-pressed to find stuff like that without a little Japan town or international shipping.
Are you going to build one yourself? This is a store that has been around for generations. Maybe it’ll help give you some ideas. https://www.nihondou.co.jp/
Whilst this is a very considerate idea, there might be issues, such as there are different symbols for different Buddhist sects usually carved on it, and generally it is blessed/purified by a priest. Maybe better to talk with your wife about it before designing. Maybe she doesn’t care about any of the specific stuff, but if she does, might backfire.
