How do I get my fish grill to work?

🤗 Hello! I have an issue with my gasconro. My fish grill isn’t working. I changed the batteries and it still isn’t working. My burners are ok! But the grill isn’t turning on. The grill lites initially but the fire doesn’t stay lit. What should I do?

Thanks!

  1. I had one once that you had to turn it all the way to high, release the ignite lever, and then adjust the flame. Sometimes it took a couple times to work.

  2. Like others have said, you often have to spam these things. I have one that sometimes ignites and stays lit first time, but mostly it takes a bunch of times to get it to work properly. Frustrating as hell.

  3. Usually you have to leave it on high for a minute or two then lower it, think the heating element needs to heat up to allow it to stay on.

  4. Mine wasn’T turning on for a while, and I almost called a repair guy. Have a look, and noticed there was a piece of tin foil that had gotten snagged on the little igniter wire at the top.

  5. Did you put water in the little tray? It needs steam so that it doesn’t overheat and automatically shut off. Mine makes a little beep alarm if the water has evaporated.

  6. I imagine not “all” of the fires in the fish grill work. The burner detects that as a defect which makes it recognize that the entire burner didn’t turn on and turns off the gas connection to it. – a safety function to not fill up your house with potentially hazardous and explosive gas. I would recommend getting it checked by an electrician or someone who knows his way around such appliances to get it fixed.

  7. Does it have a little (red) light by the switch?

If so, hold/turn the ignite button/switch until the light turns on then you can let go. The fire should stay lit.
