Advice Needed on Weekend Driving School Timeline

Hello everyone,

I’m planning to start driving school next week but my schedule only allows for weekend attendance. I’ll be out of the country from December 16th until the second week of January. I’ve heard that completing driving school typically takes about 3 months full-time. Can someone with experience shed light on how much time it might take for someone in my situation? Any advice on managing the timeline would be greatly appreciated.

  1. This would be something you should talk to your school about. No one here will know how much time it will take as each school varies. Not to mention, does the school know you will be leaving? I am surprised they let you enroll if they do.

  2. completion entirely depends on your commitment and instructors availability.

weekend only commitment probably will take 6 months to finish.

I took 1~ 3 hours workday + weekend, excluding public holidays took me 3 months to finish.

And also my session started in the middle of December, there is no guarantee you will get the winter session and worst case you will need to secure your spring session by applying as soon as possible.

  3. I got it in two months with evening classes (not everyday) and weekends. It’s almost 31 hours. So you can calculate how you can divide them.
Check the school system and put a schedule to finish the course.

Yes, the driving school you plan to enroll in can tell you. Try speaking with them.

  5. Driving school is catered for 18 year olds to go full-time for 1-2 months, it’s going to take forever only going on weekends.
