  2. This is probably a crap article about America-mura and not the Johnson Town that actually has some good history and would make a worthy read.

  3. Lol that place is a tourist trap. I live just up the hill from it. Lots of Asian tourists like walking around there too as there’s lots to do and see. Plus, it’s one of the few places in Okinawa that’s instagram-worthy. Lots of buildings covered in mold close by as well as rampant poverty since it’s the poorest prefecture in Japan.

  4. for those who didn’t or couldn’t read it, it’s way less about the actual place & more about the writer’s vietnamese bloodline on “why the hell is america glamorized” & unhappy they’re reminded of america while trying to go to japan for vacation out of it 🤷‍♀️
