  1. I learned that if you tell Ikea you don’t have an elevator, they will keep rejecting your order until you tell them you do. Even on the first floor lol

  2. Had a party Saturday which was fun, but I had some trouble finding things to talk about with the other dads.
They don’t have time to watch movies or tv shows, didn’t seem particularly interested in talking about current events either. They don’t listen to music anymore, they don’t have any hobbies and they don’t play games.
On the weekends they’ll catch up on work and maybe go to a park with their kids.
Even when the ‘What did you do when you were kids’ topic came up it was kind of a bust, since most of them didn’t really do anything. Sometimes they would talk to their friends after juku or their part-time jobs.
Maybe I don’t know how to talk to people anymore.

  3. I’m really curious about the reason korean music labels not only translate their artists songs to japanese, but lately compose new ones in Japanese. So when the said artist/band goes on world tour, they’re performing their korean songs everywhere except here where they only perform the japanese ones (And it sucks because i need to ago to another asian country if i want to enjoy the original music).
But i am curious as to why. Is this part of the entitlement here in Japan? Sure feels like it to me. Is the korean-japanese history involved even with the young generation?

  4. The new doritos flammin hot chips are amazing. Actually spicy and I’m stocking up, because they’re time limited and probably never coming back.

  5. I thought washing trousers inside-out would help things but instead I ended up with grayish splotches 🥴

  6. A student was just using Google translate to do their writing assignment. Pretty normal stuff. However, I look at the worksheet and it’s complete nonsense. Look up and they had selected not English (but still using the Roman alphabet) for the language, somehow didn’t notice, and were just copying down when they saw. I pointed this out to them and they just looked at me then found English and erased everything. Like I knew some of my students had bad English but the fact that they couldn’t even realize it was the wrong language is mildly concerning.
