Has the Christmas music started where you are, yet?

I’m in Yokohama and went to Itotokado yesterday and I heard the first Xmas music of the season blaring throughout the store. A couple of the shops in my neighborhood have already put out their Santa. It think if it were colder, they’d break out all the decorations.

How’s the season progressing where you are?

  1. It was almost 30c the other day, had to turn on my AC.

I really hope they aren’t starting Christmas season already, actually come to think of it, Khaldi had some Christmas stuff out already. I’ll consider them dead for the rest of the year.

  2. The local Daiso has already started to put out their Christmas decorations and products, they didn’t waste any time after Halloween

  3. Mariah woke up from hibernation on November 1st at our local karaoke.

    I don’t want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need…

  4. I remember going to a mall in Sendai on Halloween that was decked out in Halloween decor from top to bottom. Then I went back the NEXT DAY and it was all replaced by Christmas stuff. Like, the people who set it all up after hours must’ve been working HARD.

  5. Yes, it’s full throttle since last week, Halloween hadn’t even ended. With the warmer temps, I am not ready for 8 weeks of the same Xmas set list. Aeon had nonstop, irksome Christmas tunes. It’s either always using earbuds or online shopping for now until the weather turns cooler.

  6. Yes. Was at Nambu Market in Yokohama, and they had decorations up and Christmas music blasting.

  7. Motomachi Street is already decked out in illumination throughout with the big Christmas tree near the plaza. The MEGA Donki nearby is already in Christmas mode.

  8. Starbucks is playing almost nonstop big band swing xmas tunes. After 20 minutes I half expect them to interrupt the musak to announce the death of FDR.

The only relief is Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses.

  9. There is already a huge xmas tree and reindeer outside my local mall in Shizuoka! Had a chuckle seeing that while sweating in 26 degrees weather today

  10. Saw christmas decorations in a store a single day after halloween. Some random shopping street I biked through near Oji already had illuminated Christmas signs out last week too.

The second Halloween ends it’s pretty much Christmas.

  11. Christmas is already in full swing at the local AEON. A zakka shop has even put out a sign that does Christmas countdown (… days until Christmas!).

Whoa, hold your horses, the advent period hasn’t even started 😆
Already Adeste Fideles is playing (which I don’t mind, it’s one of my fav Christmas songs).

  12. I saw a Christmas tree already put up at a hair salon last week. Now my wife wants to put ours up , fucking steady on I haven’t even put away my Halloween deco yet

  13. Yep. I was at the dentist this evening, and as I was leaving, I realised that the orgol music was Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

  14. No way are you gonna catch me with that trap. I’m not going anywhere near a department store to get double teamed by Mariah Carey and Wham!

  15. That’s the way it usually is. November 1 to December 25 midnight. Wake up on December 26 and Christmas has gone. My students were very surprised when I said they could still see Christmas decorations in the US after New Year’s

  16. I hate it so much. I try to ignore as much as possible until I am actually ready in mid December.

  17. Matsumoto was blasting Christmas music November 1st. We need another week, at least… Too soon.

  18. Yes. I was in an onsen in Miyagi the other day and really confused by music box renditions of Christian music…. Then “Jingle Bells” started playing.
