A Happy Pancake Ginza

Me and my father are going to Japan towards the end of November. We really want to try this place so today I tried to make a reservation. I took a glance at the reservation system before and I saw that it was always fully booked 2 weeks in advance, so earlier today I opened up the reservation page at 10am est (12am jst) and reloaded the page the second it hit 10 since it was a new day in Japan and I expected a new day of reservations to open. To my surprise, the next day was shown but every hour of the day was fully booked. The reason I did all this is because we have limited time in Tokyo and I don’t want to air at any restaurants. Has this happened to anyone else? If I show up to the restaurant 15 minutes before opening, how long should I expect to get a seat?

  1. If anyone Japanese tech expert is reading this there would be a market where I’d pay 💰to someone to get me these type of hard to get internet reservations. Don’t even start me on some of the themed places for kids!!

  2. If you’re traveling outside of Tokyo, you might be able to find a AHP branch with lower waits. When I went to Sakaihigashi, I stumbled on an AHP at the station there with no waits or reservations required.

  3. We went there in March and although we made a reservation, we didn’t need one. This was a weekday right after opening.

  4. They seem to have many locations, hopefully something works out for you. I really want to go to one, it looks delicious.

  5. If you are going to the Ghibli museum by any chance there is a happy pancake near there in kichijoji. We made reservations 2 weeks in advance and even with that the restaurant was almost empty at around 2pm on a Friday.
