13 Days: Takayama – Kyoto – Fukuoka – Tokyo – Hakone. Itinerary Check

I’d love any feedback on this itinerary. We’ve been to Japan a couple of times before, so we’re not really focused on having to see all the main attractions in each cities. That being said, we are open to suggestions if you think there is some attractions that we must not miss! For this trip, we just want to focus on eating and leisurely explore the area. We just mainly want to make sure we get to try most of our must-eat list and enjoy Japanese cuisine.

Either drop off our luggage at our second Tokyo hotel (where we’ll be checking in to on Day 12, after our quick trip to Hakone) or store it at a locker. Still need to figure this out), but we’d rather not bring our luggage to Hakone.

  1. Sleep in Gero. There is a hotel there that has its own onsen that offers traditional dinner. Also Takayama and Gero are not technically neer each other. It takes a JR train. so better schedule these two separately or stay in Gero and do a day trip to Takayama.
