This week’s cover isn’t Ospreay, Shota, Mox, or even Finlay destroying the titles. Nakajima’s AJPW title win is part of the tiny blurb at the very top.
All hail your Junior Aces, long shall they reign.
For full context of the NJPW-related stuff on the cover: The big white text is “The never-ending rivalry” and the yellow text is just explaining the outcome of the Ishimori defense and setup for the WK match. The text in the yellow circle is a snippet of other news from Power Struggle; that Ospreay successfully defended against Shota and will be in a 3-way next, and that the Okada vs Bryan rematch is happening.

Weird that shupro don’t think loading the cover up with foreigners won’t sell more copies.
Yeah I was hoping Will’s gonna get this one with Shota, a fitting maybe last one. But his last one will probably be Finlay standing over him at New Beginning or somewhere ugh
I mean Despe vs Hiromu is a big time match up, no matter what anyone says. You can even argue that it is the second biggest match on the card for the domestic audience.
Tbf Hiromu and Despy are only behind Naito, Okada and Tana in popularity.
But yeah suprised Shotas effort atleast didn’t make a mini box on the front page
My wife and I were both thinking that Hiromu vs Ishimori should’ve been the main event, as Hiromu is chasing Liger’s IWGP Jr title defense record. You’d think that’d be a bigger deal to the Japanese audience than a recently established expansion belt that New Japan pretty much lost track of throughout the pandemic.
Crazy what happens when you’re booked to win EVERYTHING ever. Now imagine if they actually LET SANADA win things prior to this year? Fucking crazy!
Damn, i have to watch wk after all.
Shows how over Hiromu and despe are domestically. But I am surprised Shota didn’t make the cover tbh
Why don’t they use Despy much? He’s one of the most popular wrestlers, and his deathmatch with Jun Kasai went crazy, but he’s always just on the undercard teaming with Master Wato or somethting
