I currently have temp plates until Monday (I can’t get my shaken until then). Seeing that I have my license, insurance and registration, am I able to drive for fun or any reason outside of getting the required work done for shaken (which again I can’t get until Monday)?

what were the circumstances you got the plates? new car, old shaken expired etc?
but generally if you aren’t driving to the inspection office on temporary plates (the reason they were issued), you’re in deep shit if stopped by the popo, they also stick out like dogs bollocks, so stay off the road for the weekend would be my advice. call the car shop tomorrow to check.
Why did you get the temporary plate? If you did everything properly, you would not get one. Did your shaken expire?
Anyway, you can drive only the route you applied for the temporary plate. No other route is allowed.
