  1. if we’re using this 古名画 to describe old works of art, would this be こめいが since めいが are 音読み and so is こ?

Or is this more like some sort of compound word?

    context:

    > さすがに百戦錬磨の名探偵、にくらしいほど落ちつきはらっています。
     それから、ふたりはらくな姿勢になって、ポツポツ古名画の話をはじめたものですが、しゃべるのは明智ばかりで、老人はソワソワと落ちつきがなく、ろくろく受け答えもできないありさまです。

  2. What’s the difference in usage and meaning between 取れる and 外れる?

    – when the meaning of both word is “come off” like button is coming off, screw is detach, etc…

  3. In my genki 1 textbook there’s a calendarshowing how to say days of the month. For the 10th it’s written as とおか. How come it’s not written as とうか ? Is it 2 words?

  4. I’ve been taking beginner lessons for 2 months (twice a week), and I still struggle GREATLY with reading basic hiragana. Like I know some characters but I always need time to figure out what they mean.

As a result I slow down the class I’m in when it’s my turn to read and the people around me won’t partner up with me.

Should I quit and take private lessons instead or push through? I have so much anxiety and stress going into class now

  5. A song from a popular anime has the lyrics

    anata no miteru shoutai

I’m not exactly understanding how a pronoun and a verb are joined together by の

The only thing I know is that I’m pretty sure that the meaning of anata no miteru is modifying shoutai
