I was gifted this by a Japanese person visiting Canada and I can’t get enough of this tea. Is there a brand that’s available anywhere in North America that comes close? Also what term do I use to describe this tea? I’m not sure if gyokuro is a name brand or a type of tea.

“We offer a flat rate of $5.95 and free shipping on orders over $39 USD from the US & Canada.”
I searched it up and this Canadian tea company offers Gyokuro teas, different types. Yes, I know is the exact brand, but maybe you can try a few, and see if you like them.

Also, maybe different Japanese stores carry this type of tea. Not sure where in Canada you are located, but in Toronto there are some stores (for example J-Town at Steeles and Vic Park) that have quite an impressive variety of Japanese products, including teas.

Ippodo seems to be the most popular store for Japanese tea I think, they are a very old store and widely known they sell quality tea. You can buy direct from Japan or from their north american store but it is twice more expensive so if you plan to buy quite allot it is best to buy from the Japanese store and pay for shipping.
Oh my shit it is my favorite tea shop in Japan!! They have an online shop that delivers overseas.
