Need medical help, dermatitis is ruining my life

Hey all,

I have severe Seborrheic dermatitis on my face. Most lotions, even medical, aren’t working for me.

I’ve heard laser treatment works wonders and I’m willing to pay whatever price tag for the treatment.

I‘be searched online for a clinic or hospital that does this treatment (Tokyo) but have yielded no results.

Please, can someone please please recommend a clinic that does this procedure?

  1. I think you would be better discussing with a 皮膚科 (hifuka) doctor to see what your options are; you might need to ask around different ones though if you’re having trouble finding one who will listen to you seriously

If that kind of treatment is only available at a bigger hospital, you’d probably need a letter from the smaller clinic to even be allowed to make a consultation appointment there

  2. I’m gonna tell you something.

I developed dermatitis for the first time in my life as an adult when I moved near Tokyo. Stress. It must have been stress…

I quit my job and moved away from Tokyo to a new city and the new job (maybe natural environment too) saved my skin. Maybe you’re not stressed and have the best job ever, but I believe my adult on set dermatitis was an awful boss and work environment.

    Edit:
Whatever it is. Find the cause! Clothing, cleaners, an evil witch boss and colleagues from hell, food, something’s causing it. Unfortunately I went to two doctors in Japan and when they looked at my gaijin face they said something along the lines of ‘Japan is a new environment for you. It must be the food.’ And pushed me out the door.

  3. I know you’re asking for a medical help, and this isn’t medical help, but as a person who struggled significantly with dermatitis, and still has flare ups at times, diet was a big factor for me. Anti-inflammatory diet could help, and staying away from fried foods. Dairy was a big one.
