Bartending

Sup guys, I’ve been doing some research over the past couple days and from everything I’ve read it looks like moving to japan to be a bartender is not allowed on a working holiday visa. My question is if there is any way around this? I have a ton of experience making cocktails and in the industry in general so not sure if that helps. Let me know 🙏 Cheers

I mean, the working holiday restrictions are pretty cut and dry – [https://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/w_holiday/index.html:](https://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/w_holiday/index.html🙂

    >The working holiday participants are strictly prohibited from working at bars, cabarets, nightclubs, gambling establishments and other premises affecting public morals in Japan. If a participant works at such a place, he or she is deemed to violate Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act and will face deportation except where he or she is deemed to be victims of human trafficking.

Now, if you had a job at a place that wasn’t a bar/cabaret/nightclub/etc but that did serve cocktails (like a restaurant), that is probably fine.

I suppose if you were one of the more performance oriented type of bartenders you could probably get an entertainer visa. You’d probably have to have won a few large scale competitions though to convince immigration that its a legit application.
