I’m positive NJPW and AEW were in talks with AAA and CMLL to see if they can meet in the middle to have Andrade and Naito team up or face each other. Once they couldn’t reach an agreement with the companies then they probably just told Naito he sit this show out to keep him well rested for the G1 instead of just throwing him in just to have him on the card.

I think it’s time for NJPW to re-evaluate its alliance with CMLL because it seems ridiculous that talents like Andrade or Penta don’t appear due to problems between CMLL and AAA and as far as I understand it mostly affects Mexican and Japanese wrestlers because FTR, Sammy appeared on the show and Tay and both hold championships in AAA

23. This is a work and classic Naito. He had eye surgery. No way LIJ shows up at all without him unless it’s with good reason. He’s my favorite wrestler on the planet, and while OF COURSE I’d love to have seen him in person for FD, I know there’s no way he wouldn’t have been there without legit reason.
