I’m studying in Hirakata, and I was wondering if there were any sorts of websites or resources to find places where you can go and listen to writers perform their work- maybe some sort of writers association or bookstore that hosts events. I was thinking small intimate settings to stop by in the evenings. I love doing that here in the states and figured it would be something worth looking into. I assume there are forums somewhere that post about events like that; Japanese websites and socials are fine. I hope this is the right place- I initially thought being a student meant I didn’t meet the requirements to post here, but my post was removed from the traveling subreddit- so I hope this is okay! Thank you in advance

I found a link to the Japan Poet’s Association, maybe they would have some information or insight

Hello fellow Hirakatan!
Go to the new performing and visual arts, 5 min walk from the station, near Kansai medical school. They have pamphlets there announcing upcomung events, you might find something you like.
The T-Site will somestimes have book signing events, check their website, like this https://store.tsite.jp/hirakata/event/magazine/35814-1330160910.html though you have to “signup” for it most of the time.
Otherwise, if you’re a student, I’d assume you live near the central library. Visit there as well, and you can even ask around the people there.
