  1. I finally avoided crazy English club lady! She tends to arrive too early to things, so I fought her with lateness! I’m a chronically late person so I just stayed at the local festival too long, when she called told her my friend invited me to dinner so I want to drive myself, and took my sweet time getting to the meet up point, at which point my phone call clicked to her and we drove separately. I arrived at the play 15min early and found her but then she spent the rest of the time chasing around her friends. Felt good to be there on time and not be the focus of attention. She was talking to her friends about how spontaneous Americans are, inviting each other to dinner the day of hahaha (there was no dinner plans, I actually just wanted to go shopping).

Speaking of the local festival, my 5th graders plant, harvest, and sell rice as part of the curriculum. They made their own presentations, pamphlets, and labels to sell at the local festival. It’s all ADORABLE of course so I got one of each label design and three different pamphlets. Even got a student to tell me the price in English by asking “how much is it?” Ahhhh they are so dang cute.

  2. Got to do my absolutely favourite thing yesterday. Had a nap while it was pouring with rain with my son on one side cuddled up and my daughter on the other side cuddled up. And my cat on my chest for extra warmth

  3. Walked into the piano shop thinking we’d spend 3-5man on a beginner digital piano for our small child to learn on. Walked out after spending 40man on a top end digital piano.

Damn that salesperson really earned his paycheck for the day.

  4. I made a pact last month of not drinking until i could do a pull up. And last weekend I tried to do one and voila I actually did it. Being consistent does work. Kanpai!

  5. I went to the Taiwan expo in Shinjuku Sumitomo bldg. Pretty cool, traditional puppet show, food and tech demo.

  6. Got a bit excited with the 11/11 AliExpress sale and bought my first ever retro handheld. Went for the Anbernic RG505, it worked out to 18000 yen after discounts. For comparison’s sake the Retroid Pocket 3+ would have been like 23000 yen after shipping, even with it’s sale price. Anyway I can’t wait for the device to arrive, so I have yet another toy to play with and probably not end up using a whole lot lol.

  7. Slept the entire Saturday (10+hours) after night shift, read fanfiction and then slept some more. Had an epiphany while showering that I should approach chemistry like a language I’m trying to learn. Woke up at 11am Sunday, waffled around a bit and had a good 2~3 total focused hours of studying.

Tried to go get groceries at Gyoumu just to find the entire rubber tire of my bicycle dislocated from its metal frame, and lose the cap to the air hole while attempting to pop the tire back into place and fill it with air. Oh well.

  8. Went to a party that played Gabber and assorted Dutch-style hardcore music. There’s a very funny irony that i needed to travel halfway around the world and go to clubs here to start appreciating music from my home country lol Event was pretty cool too.

  9. Went to Shibuya Sky for the first time with friends I hadn’t seen in a decade. Pleasantly surprised how nice it is up there! The rooftop bar purchase gave us access to a special lounge off to the side with sofas and lamps to enjoy some wine and take in the view. 10/10 experience.
