Hello,
I just moved to Japan and got a contract with Ahamo – I have an older S20 and wanted to use the Osaifu-Keitai function for mobile payments / JR etc. which didnt work since its a US phone.
Does anybody use a Samsung phone in Japan with the Osaifu-Keitai/Felica chip? I am trying to find out where I can buy one… I see Amazon JP has Samsung S23 but it looks like its an “import” product, so it wont use the chip.
Any ideas if newer Samsung Phones in Japan come with it? Or am I forced to change to another Android brands?
Many thanks!

Check if the model ends with Japan region e.g. SM-S918QZEGSJP
[Rakuten’s Samsung Galaxy S23](https://network.mobile.rakuten.co.jp/product/smartphone/galaxy-s23/index_b.html?l-id=product_top_galaxy-s23) supports osaifu keitai.
*おサイフケータイ / NFC 対応 / 対応*
I’m sure handsets sold by other carriers in Japan would also support it.
Amazon JP could be parallel imports, which may not support it. Check with the seller for the specific model number to be sure.

get it from rakuten Mobile they only have sim free domestic models.
or get a good condition used S23 from janpara. most are sim unlocked domestic models
I have a fold 5 and my wife has a S23Ultra. Both from Japan and both use osaifu keitai.
Galaxy’s and Pixels all have the osaifu keitai function if bought from a legit store in Japan
Just go to Samsung Japan’s website, everything you can buy there, and at the carriers they point you to, are Japanese models with osaifu-keitai
