  1. Really interesting article thanks for sharing. It’s a really healthy move in my opinion.

    Not sure why you highlight the former English teachers part since the companies are just hiring qualified foreigners and one out of 87 happened to be an English teacher before, is not like they are actually recruiting them. Your title is a little misleading.

  2. Last trip I also saw the reporting about driver shortages for the public bus as well, and of course they were too *mulling* about hiring foreigners to fill the gaps.

    The bus might be more attractive because you just have a fixed route and less trips per hour, when compared to the bus system in the US.

    You also don’t really have to converse with your passengers as a driver unless there are issues.

  3. I remember seeing job ads for “international taxi drivers” since before the olympics, I was under the impression taxi companies have been hiring foreigners for a while now.
