Hi everyone! Sorry if I feel stupid asking this question.
So, I moved to Japan in October this year.
We have rented an apartment. The apartment didn’t come with a Washlet/Warm Toilet Seat. So we got one and did the installation a couple of days ago.
Now here comes the problem, there was no electrical outlet in the toilet room. But somehow we managed to get an extension cord to get the main plug into an outlet just outside the toilet room. As there was no outlet, we just left the ground wire as it was (I folded and wrapped it to secure it from an electric shock).
But when we tried using it, it only performed the below functions.
1. Nozzle cleaning
2. Nozzle Deodorizing
3. Water warming
4. Sensors are working
5. Remote control is working
But the other functions are not working, such as:
1. Seat warming
2. Bidet Wash
3. Wash
I have tried reconnecting the seat and plugging several times but these functions just don’t work.
Now the reasons they might not be working is unknown to me. But my best bet would be that it’s just a protective measure because the ground wire isn’t attached. Now idk if that’s what it is, but all other functions that don’t require direct contact with the seat are happening, just the ones that need direct contact aren’t.
I am thinking of contacting my landlord to ask about the groundwork so I could attach it to a damn outlet but not sure if they would allow it.
Just in case, the model is Panasonic DL-WM20. It is a discontinued model which I got from my friend (as they had a spare). From what I was told, it was working well before. Btw, I didn’t ask him about the ground wire because of his busy schedule so I just thought to post here.
I hope to get some help from here.
Thanks all

I just googled and found out yes that you do need to ground it.
and according to this article there’s a solution. [link](https://yayasuzuki.com/diy-attach-washlet-toilet)
buy this and setup your ground wire to it.
