My understanding is that to move to Japan you need to either work or study there. I will study myself and get a work visa.
I am looking for bookstores and places with books or old items that I could apply to. They must be non-credientalist (e.g. not “we only hire literature Ph. Ds regardless of your actual skills”) and English-friendly (i.e. “you can learn Japanese whilw working and use English for necessary communication.”) I am not absolutely new to Japanese as a language, and have began studying it, but still need English for comunication.
I would also prefer a smaller / independent workplace over large chain / group / organization. Something close to those second-hand bookstores in Europe. Academic places would also be slightly preferred.

**English academic or second-hand bookstores in Japan**

See if you can find a category relevant to retail staff:

Working at a bookstore would be retail work. I don’t believe retail work is eligible for work visas.
what you’re asking for does not exist.
1. You won’t qualify for a work visa, regardless, but …
2. The language of Japan is Japanese, both written and verbal. English is not a second language here, it is a foreign language. You’re not going to find an “English-friendly” bookstore. Many large bookstores may have an english section, but you would still need to fluently understand Japanese in order to work with coworkers and customers.
Sorry, this is not a position that would be eligible for visa sponsorship.
