hello can someone please help me understand how to get tickets to go from shinjuku to kawaguchiko? I’ve been reading online and theres two different answers.
I will be in Shinjuku on 03/23/24 and from what I understand, at 7:30am I get on Fuji excursion on the JR Chuo line and those tickets need to be booked in advanced (is there an online website for that?)
then the Otsuki-Kawaguchiko line is not covered by Jr rail pass so I would pay out of pocket. but I am not sure how to pay for the tickets. Am I suppose to get off the train and pay at a transfer gate/touch panel and then get back on the train or do I stay in my seat and wait for the conductor to come?

There’s a bus service from shinjuku to kawaguchiko i know I have a record of it somewhere I already forgot the details, that was last 2019. Try look for that option, takes you to Kawaguchiko Station.
I was there this November and took a bus. Let me search the details and come back to you.
You can get from Tokyo to Mishima station via JR. Then bus down to Kawa.
