  1. I’m a full time employee and have never gotten a health check from my company. My wife’s PT job gives health checks which is what made me realize we have never gotten one. When inquired about it, I got the run around. Yes I’m on 社会保険. Is this OK? I know it’s not “normal” but wondering if it’s OK for the company to not do the health checks for the insurance

  2. Where can I find a very basic wheelchair? Either rent or get it cheap.

In laws visiting and although he/she will insist that they are fine and dandy, I think it’s better to have a wheelchair to make most of their holidays.

  3. Has anyone worked for jimex before? I saw their job ad for exporting car sales and would love to get into international sales but I’m curious if it involves any cold calling. I’m great for “soft sales” as in if a customer wants a car, I’d be happy to set them up with options. I’m not great at bugging people who aren’t interested in a car to buy a car

  4. To be admitted to a Japanese graduate school, you need to find a professor willing to take you on as a student first. This is achieved by reading some research papers and emailing the author of those papers right? The advice I received in undergrad when emailing PIs asking to join their lab is to keep it short and to the point. I’m assuming this advice still holds when emailing professors in Japan when trying to join a masters or PhD program?

  5. Really getting onto Magic: The Gathering lately. I searched, but can’t find any good meetups in English. I prefer limited, but I’ll try something else if need be.

  6. A couple of weeks ago, I saw this video of a bunch of 私人逮捕系 youtubers going to confront an *alleged* ticket scalper and performing a “citizen’s arrest” on her. Then just last night, I saw the news that one of those guys got arrested for 名誉棄損.

I’m not going to delve into whether their actions were right or wrong or what, just curious as to a certain point of law. 名誉棄損 seems to me like a civil case or charge if anything, how is it that the police got involved and to the point of arresting him?

Could anyone wise about the arcane ways of the law please enlighten me about his?

edit: added alleged for good measure.
