Permanent Resident application- one late pension

I am applying for Pernament Residence based on Japanese Spouse.

At the worst time possible I confused ticket expiration with deadline and was late on 1 pension payment this summer. Paid and all already.

Everything else is spotless.

I got asked for extra documents and explanation why it is late.

Everywhere I read says that it will be rejected.

Do we have any success stories in recent few years or I have to wait another two years.

  1. Got also a late payment 1year ago (for only 2000yens because the little post card got lost into a pile of publicities Lol) and many lawyers firms told me to wait for 2years of clean records because there is 90% of chances failing it.

So if you have a strong excuse with some proofs you may be able to get it but it is most likely to fail

you can just try and if you don’t get it re-apply again once you hit the 2y mark, there is no penalty for failing at it

  2. They’re really strict on that, so don’t get your hopes up for them approving it, just plan on it getting rejected and you can try again in about two years when it falls off your record

  3. As per the writing of the requirements, and the reason behind your late payment your application will be refused.

BUT immigration is arbitrary… so who knows… this isn’t really a question we can answer because even if someone else got approved for missed pension in the last two years, won’t mean you will as it’s case by case

  4. High chance to be refused. I was told for my application it will take 9-10 months with the current backlog. I think you will wait a long time and not pass. Better to wait till 2 years have passed. Even 1 day is enough to be counted late.

  5. You can ask a law firm to apply on behalf of you. Many work on no cure no pay base and will interview you before you get accepted as a client (or not). I would ask one of them if they’re willing to take you on as a client with payment based on delivering results (getting PR). If they say no, you know you should wait a bit longer, they can probably advise on that too.

  6. how do you all know if y’all have late pension/ residence insurance payment?

cause i was under the national insurance before i switched to the health insurance under my current company.
