Childcare leave after 12 month question

Hello, I have a baby who will be 12 months in February.

I am willing to extend childcare leaves by 6 months.

I got to know that I need to apply for March admission and April (for new academic year) separately.

If I apply only for March and if its rejected does my childcare leave get extended by 6 months?

Can I skip application for April?

  1. That is the company’s system, so you will not get an accurate answer by asking here. Please ask the company.

  2. We don’t know which system you are on (contract, seishain, other). Depending on the setup you may have legal rights to multiple options, but do expect that payments will be very low (if any).
    There is also a difference between what you have a right to do and what your company will be happy with. You can take a longer leave but it can inconvenience them and while they might not be able to fire you they could make your life more miserable if you don’t discuss and align this correctly.

    Talk to your company HR and your city hall.

  3. Yes you can skip for April. You just need to apply and fail for February (March admission), then take your 落選通知 and you can extend for 6 months. You can apply for August and if you fail again can take that 落選通知 and extend another 6 months.
