Making cookies in the microwave oven?

Is it possible to make chocolate chip cookies in a Japanese microwave oven like a conventional oven? Trying to make cookies with my kids and I’ve got the stove with fish grill and a microwave like the Toshiba ER-VD70.

  1. If it has オブン and レンジ buttons on it, then yes, it is a convection microwave oven and can bake cookies.

  2. I doubt it if it’s just a microwave. If it’s a combo microwave/convection oven then you could.

  3. オートメニュー button and then choose number 37 for cookies.

experiment with cooking times and tray position.

  4. Absolutely. I have the same oven. I bake bread, hamburger buns, pizza, muffins, cake, cupcakes, cookies, roasts, turkey, everything in it. It works great.

  5. No. 30 says cookies.

I wouldn’t use that option though unless you’ve tried it out and followed the recipe they have in the manual booklet that came in the box.

Press the oven button. Set the temp and time and bake the cookies like any other oven you used back home. If you know your oven runs hot or cold, set the temp accordingly.

  6. Possible? Yeah – sure.

Will they taste like properly made Cookies tho? – *Haha* NO!

I mean – The Japanese have a shit ton of “Cooking” recipes for the Microwave – Since that is often the only “Oven-like” tool they have available to them.

  7. If it has the オブン function you definitely can. Alternatively a toaster oven works too
