Need help planning our Japan Itinerary

Hi! So my husband & I are going to Japan at the end of March early April and we are very overwhelmed with the planning. We wanted to know what is the most efficient way to hit our destinations in the amount of time we have.

We will be flying into Tokyo March 25 and flying out April 3.

We ideally would like to visit/see Tokyo, Osaka, Miyajima Island, Hiroshima & Yokohama.

We are open to all possible modes of transportation as well!

What do you guys suggest?

TIA

  1. I’m using wanderlog to plan our trip. Got it off a recommendation in this sub from someone else. Plug in all the spots you want to hit, food places etc. it will even build an itinerary for you based on locations of everything if you want.
I’m a planner, organization type person so I dig it 😂

We’re also going to Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima. First time! Landing March 26 and staying thru first week of April. Hopefully we’ll get full bloom dates correct 🤞🏻 Enjoy and have fun!

  2. You’ve chosen a busy week: the school year ends in the third week of March and begins in early April. If you can move your trip up to the second week or March or back to the second week of April, things will be much less crowded (and expensive).

Yokohama and Tokyo abut each other, so planning separate trips for those two won’t be necessary. Many of the train lines that connect Yokohama and Tokyo are private, so buying a JR rail pass will probably not be worthwhile, at least for that part of the trip.
