Spouse visa renewal – where do I indicate spouse’s income?

Hi everyone, I’m going through my first spouse visa renewal!

On the application form, I’d like to fill in my husband’s income to bolster my case but there seem to be two places on the form to do so and I’m not sure which applies.

Most recent form (the one I’m using) is [here](https://www.moj.go.jp/isa/content/930004114.pdf). Would I fill it in under question 20 or 21? Some sources say they’ll be annoying and make you submit it again if your write it in the wrong section, others say it doesn’t really matter as long as the information is somewhere on the form and backed up with the required tax / financial documents submitted as part of the application.

If it helps, I’m the main income earner in our household so my husband’s salary is just supplementary. I’m sure that means that technically I don’t need to write it, but every little helps.

Thanks in advance!

  1. For #20 on mine I mark “self” and “guarantor” and split our monthly total bills half and half for the amount of money

I always leave #21 blank but would write it in if say, his parents were giving us money monthly or something (but since I’m not receiving any other kind of financial support I leave it blank)

Edit to add: 21 is if you are dependent on someone/your spouse but for myself I am not, as we are both under separate insurances, etc. so there is nothing where I am legally enrolled as his 扶養者

  2. For 20 I filled in both ‘self’ and my partners ‘guarantor’ monthly gross income and again his income by 21.
