Hello all. Me and my wife are travelling to Japan for the first time. Did my research regarding the plan. We basically want to explore Japan culture and explore street food in the area. Most of the listed locations in the Itinerary are within walking distance(planning to wake up early during our whole Kyoto stay). We decided not to get JR pass for this trip. Is this itinerary good? That looks like too many things most days.
You’ve got an awful lot of stuff for about 24 hours in Tokyo in the first two days. You will have to walk between those places, and even going from, say, Shinjuku Station *to* Korea Town will take 15 minutes. Going from there to Shinjuku Gyoen will take another, say, half hour, and you’ll spend at least an hour in the park, I should think. (Our family went there a couple of weeks ago and spent about 90 minutes there, even though we didn’t even try to look at every spot.)
I’d recommend skipping Shimokitazawa: 15 or 20 years ago it was a place to find bargains, but it no longer is. It’s still got a lot of used clothing shops, but they’re ‘curated’ ‘vintage’ places, for the most part. Maybe try Koenji instead. If you can read Japanese, check [fmfm.jp](https://fmfm.jp), which lists most of the large flea markets in Japan.
