It’s that time of the week again. Please boast and share about the good things that have happened to you this past week!

  1. Took me nearly an hour at night, but I got my new Steam Deck.

I feel conflicted, because after waiting for so long in a page that was dying constantly, I thought to myself that maybe lotteries are not that bad.

Of course, such thoughts disappeared the moment I finally got to pay for it.

  2. I’m late to the party but I have been loving the crap out of Mario maker. I don’t really create levels but I love playing the user created ones.

  3. I asked my friend from English club if he could teach me Japanese, since I’m ~~failing~~ taking the N2 in December. He agreed so I go to his house once a week for 1-1.5 hours and he teaches me whatever he wants.

He’s teaching me through various newspaper articles (opinion pieces, describing scenery, regular articles), a book of short stories, music CDs, and a book of tongue twisters he wrote. In addition to this, he makes tea for us and gives me vegetables from his garden.

I’m not the best student, usually not finishing all the homework he gives me, but I really enjoy our time together and everything he is teaching me. His teaching method is chaotic but I trust the process 😂. Even though the test is in a couple weeks I want to continue learning from him, if he will let me. I’m really grateful for his teaching and company.

  4. Glad I bought my Nike Boa Fleece Jacket last year!

They’ve released them for 2024 in new colors, but instead of 11,000 yen like they were last year, they’re 17,500 yen this year.

Holy crap can everything just stop getting more expensive??

  5. Ever since I bought the GU marshmallow lounge clothes thing, I don‘t want to wear anything else. They are so ridiculously warm for these cold days, loving them. Makes me question if any of my clothes were ever proper winter clothes.

I bought them just as pajamas but switching from them to my normal clothes after waking up is a clear downgrade. May need to get another pair.

  6. My wife’s Honda Nbox passed car inspection!!!!
190,000 kms with no repairs.just regular replacement of oil, filters, pads, sparks and rubber.
A bit rusty in places and rumble in transmission at idle butler shop said its good for 2 more years.

  7. Thanks to the three elementary school girls singing “Country Roads” while walking down the street, pausing to ask each other about the English parts. You made me and my little one smile.

Thank you health care system and city subsidies for making the total cost of a dermatologist with my kid cost 80 yen for the medicine containers. I always joke to my wife I’m going to take the empties in for a refund (“mysteriously” enough, I never see an empty container.)

  8. This new apartment I just moved in is so damn perfect. Ticks every box, I even have no downstairs neighbours ! Good thing considering how my gf stomps around lol.

  9. * “passed” my annual performance evaluation at work despite having coasted for the past year
    * found a method to keep up regular arm/weight exercises, and now my arm muscles are starting to feel nice and tight, and am even losing a bit of weight

  10. Had my first time DJ practicing at a small club during a slow evening. It wasn’t the best, still need to learn a lot, but I got some people to nod their head and one girl danced along to some tracks, so I’m feeling pretty good about it! It was pretty hype to hear your favorite tracks blasted on a club.

  11. Renewing my drivers license was quick and easy. Huge relief to get it over and done with.
