The skeptic in me says all such sales holidays are a scam to be avoided. IIRC, some companies even make shitter versions of their products, similar in appearance to hot items, to sell at lower prices on Black Friday. (Granted, that was years ago in the USA.)
I would still not trust any sales holiday item without confirming the price history (via a browser plug-in), and confirming the manufacturer’s product code matches the expected product. Basically, I find it easier to avoid such sales, but YMMV.
Japan is really bad at sales. We’ve gotten BIG SALE coupons from Tokyo interior for like 5% off. Like ¥500 off a ¥10,000 item isn’t worth the fuel to drive down there. Sure if you’re planning to spend hundreds of thousands of yen, 5% is OK but nothing to get excited about.
I’m waiting for a sale on standing desk. Been holding off on buying one
psn has some pretty sweet deals online if your into that
Probably a lot of “buy one get one 10% off, minimum purchase Â¥10,000 required”.
Looking at power tools for a while but not seeing anything AMAZing
It’s really not a big deal in Japan obviously. Some places might say Black Friday sale but it’s nothing special
GEO has a not bad discount on some used games. Nothing crazy though.
Just order from Temu my friend lol
I always check this [site](https://www.onebizlife.com/blackfriday2020-12405) out (in Japanese). It always has a nice and tidy list of all the stores that will have (or already have) some kind of Black Friday event. Check it daily, as some of them still haven’t revealed what they are going to do and when.
Moreover, if you have the chance to go back to your country for the Holidays, I would also check the same products on that country’s online stores (Amazon, Newegg, Walmart, etc.) to be sure to have the best deals. As many have already mentioned, Japan retailers are far from being the champions of sales.
Also, be sure to check [kakaku.com](https://kakaku.com) to have easy access to price comparison and check price history.
