**Day 09: 02.04.2023, Kawasaki & Yokohama**

This was our last day in the Tokyo area not by accident as on that they there was a Kanamara Matsuri in [Kanayama Jinja Shrine](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kanayama+Jinja+Shrine/@35.5333235,139.7220197,16z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x601860dba2e72bc1:0xb4bc21eb87c609a7!8m2!3d35.5345439!4d139.7246458!16s%2Fg%2F11bc6w6dpc?entry=ttu) in Kawasaki. We spent their good part of a day going with the whole festival, eating and buying souvenirs.

On the afternoon we hoped back to the train and head for [Cup Noodles Museum Yokohama](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Cup+Noodles+Museum+Yokohama+(Momofuku+Ando+Invention+Memorial)/@35.4589878,139.6389183,14.96z/data=!3m1!5s0x60185c598b1dae11:0x4ceb5b057f554150!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x601860dba2e72bc1:0xb4bc21eb87c609a7!2sKanayama+Jinja+Shrine!8m2!3d35.5345439!4d139.7246458!16s%2Fg%2F11bc6w6dpc!3m5!1s0x60185c577b6193dd:0x7368667740b93abe!8m2!3d35.4554755!4d139.6388669!16s%2Fg%2F1211cdfm?entry=ttu). Museum was really great, but when we got there were no more noodles make experience available 🙁 – but after all when we saw how big bags people are getting from there, we were kind of relief that we don’t have to pack that into our suitcases 😛

The whole museum has that great narrative saying that it’s never too late to do something extraordinary – really cool and cheering!

**Day 10: 03.04.2023, Osaka**

Early in the morning we headed to the Tokyo Station to go on our first Shinkansen ride to Osaka! We stayed near the station at [Y’s Hotel Shin-Osaka](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Y%E2%80%99s+Hotel+Shin-Osaka/@34.7270279,135.4952427,577m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m9!3m8!1s0x6000e430a2fd518f:0x1050ecc5188c7a76!5m2!4m1!1i2!8m2!3d34.7296273!4d135.4967404!16s%2Fg%2F11f_1cx39t?entry=ttu) hotel. We were there around 12:30, left our cases and move on to the [Osaka Tenmangu](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Osaka+Tenmangu/@34.6924325,135.5173854,2779m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m17!1m10!3m9!1s0x6000e430a2fd518f:0x1050ecc5188c7a76!2sY%E2%80%99s+Hotel+Shin-Osaka!5m2!4m1!1i2!8m2!3d34.7296273!4d135.4967404!16s%2Fg%2F11f_1cx39t!3m5!1s0x6000e6dba42a1cef:0xa135ef22a79f6eb2!8m2!3d34.6960576!4d135.5126556!16s%2Fm%2F0262gm1?entry=ttu) and then visited our first Japanese castle -[Osaka Castle](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Osaka+Castle/@34.68555,135.5221318,2774m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m17!1m10!3m9!1s0x6000e430a2fd518f:0x1050ecc5188c7a76!2sY%E2%80%99s+Hotel+Shin-Osaka!5m2!4m1!1i2!8m2!3d34.7296273!4d135.4967404!16s%2Fg%2F11f_1cx39t!3m5!1s0x6000e0cd5c283afd:0xf01d07d5ca11e41!8m2!3d34.6872571!4d135.5258546!16zL20vMDI0Yl9n?entry=ttu) which was awesome! Late at the evening we ate at [西中島塩元帥](https://www.google.com/maps/place/%E8%A5%BF%E4%B8%AD%E5%B3%B6%E5%A1%A9%E5%85%83%E5%B8%A5/@34.7270497,135.4890437,1272m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x6000e433d0138bf9:0xf29f0972e6cf39b0!8m2!3d34.7270453!4d135.4916186!16s%2Fg%2F1tgws47f?entry=ttu)which was really good! **Day 11: 04.04.2023, Kyoto (east)**

With that day we started our 3 days in a row visit in the Kyoto. We splited it into East, West and Central where we spent one day in each visiting various places.

Starting with east first place we visited was [Fushimi Inari Taisha](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Fushimi+Inari+Taisha/@34.974842,135.7537816,5071m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m10!1m2!2m1!1sFushimi+Inari+Taisha!3m6!1s0x60010f153d2e6d21:0x7b1aca1c753ae2e9!8m2!3d34.9671402!4d135.7726717!15sChRGdXNoaW1pIEluYXJpIFRhaXNoYVoWIhRmdXNoaW1pIGluYXJpIHRhaXNoYZIBDXNoaW50b19zaHJpbmXgAQA!16zL20vMDVsZHJt?entry=ttu) and I think it was the most crowded place we’ve seen during our whole trip! There were so many people that it really took away some charm of the place. Anyway – it was ok, but I no wonder why Japan is trying to fight against overtourism (but wonder why in their long-term plan they want to have more tourist?!).

After this we went to the [Kiyomizu-dera](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kiyomizu-dera/@34.9929293,135.7800338,17z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x600108d385dcfb07:0x62af658650c434ba!8m2!3d34.9948561!4d135.7850463!16zL20vMDJ5bjNn?entry=ttu), [Yasaka Koshindo](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Yasaka+Koshindo/@34.9957823,135.7783621,17z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x600108c57c92fbe9:0x9835e9eb6c174cfa!8m2!3d34.9983244!4d135.7787304!16s%2Fm%2F03c1tx8?entry=ttu), [Hōkan-ji Temple](https://www.google.com/maps/place/H%C5%8Dkan-ji+Temple/@34.9957823,135.7783621,17z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x600108c560f8c421:0xb1cb2441e0223549!8m2!3d34.998558!4d135.7792358!16s%2Fg%2F1213jcgj?entry=ttu), [Kennin-ji Temple](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kennin-ji+Temple/@34.9988115,135.7787954,16.75z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x600108c1242b7b27:0x7e608f1986c5bb52!8m2!3d35.0002854!4d135.7738985!16s%2Fm%2F027phyz?entry=ttu) , [Yasaka Shrine](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Yasaka+Shrine/@35.0033579,135.7806921,16.25z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x60010879a010eca9:0xc77ac89d5a241ae9!8m2!3d35.0036559!4d135.7785534!16zL20vMDVkZGds?entry=ttu), [Chion-in Temple](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Chion-in+Temple/@34.9987421,135.7711403,15z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x600108dc414283b9:0x609373abd0eaf97c!8m2!3d35.0054141!4d135.7823785!16zL20vMGI5OXlw?entry=ttu) and finished the day at [Heian-jingū Shrine](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Heian-jing%C5%AB+Shrine/@34.9987421,135.7711403,15z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x600108e5187cc88d:0x75bed992d897454f!8m2!3d35.0159823!4d135.7824263!16zL20vMDJ5NGti?entry=ttu) and its gardens.

As for the whole Kyoto part I think it could be splited into 4 days having the north & north-west separately.

**Day 13: 06.04.2023, Kyoto (central)**

Last day in Kyoto was dedicated mainly to go to the [Kyoto Imperial Palace](https://www.google.com/maps/search/Kyoto+Imperial+Palace/@35.0238789,135.762342,18z/data=!3m1!4b1?entry=ttu). We were (I think) very lucky. We showed ourselves there just few minutes past 9:00 when it’s get opened and there were no one! It was shocking that we were the only ones there! the palace itself is great and have that cool app that based on your GPS is checking where you are to play you audio about the place – really cool!

After that we start heading towards [Shimogamo-jinja Shrine](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Shimogamo-jinja+Shrine/@35.0420879,135.7623328,15.71z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x6001084046fc8d7f:0x3b83b327fe5cdcc!8m2!3d35.0389778!4d135.7730068!16s%2Fm%2F06ztvhn?entry=ttu)and on the way there we found awesome bakery – [Bon Appetit](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Bon+Appetit/@35.0267977,135.7611917,16.25z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x6001086876af9931:0x1610adf61a3a8f52!8m2!3d35.0297929!4d135.7695647!16s%2Fg%2F11b7hjrt0x?entry=ttu)! (we visited that place on our way back also :P)

From there we roamed around [Kyoto Gyoen National Garden](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kyoto+Gyoen+National+Garden/@35.0230495,135.7609779,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x6001087b148e5f1d:0x1f8b7a1904610955!8m2!3d35.0230451!4d135.7635528!16s%2Fm%2F0nbg65f?entry=ttu) and at the end of the day visited the [Nijō Castle](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Nij%C5%8D+Castle/@35.0137894,135.7466258,17z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x600107d40a2b9b0b:0x106b8759906a2f2f!8m2!3d35.0142299!4d135.748218!16zL20vMDJubmh4?entry=ttu).

**Day 14: 07.04.2023, Himeji & Kobe**

This day we went to [Himeji Castle](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Himeji+Castle/@34.8392284,134.6942072,1559m/data=!3m2!1e3!5s0x60188c01642ab297:0xa330c10baa91ccf4!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x60188c01642be603:0xe9700ff983f6785d!2sLoup+de+mer!8m2!3d35.691488!4d139.7693813!16s%2Fg%2F11b6jjwhwz!3m5!1s0x3554e003a23324b3:0x7a4f8c2f6eba81b1!8m2!3d34.839449!4d134.6939047!16zL20vMDE4bmN4?authuser=0&entry=ttu). unfortunately, the weather was very bad – it was windy, and it was raining pretty hard. Before we reached the castle, we were all wet. The castle itself from the outside is I think the most beautiful I’ve seen in Japan (wife disagree), but the inside is hollow empty – there is almost nothing except empty rooms and steep steps… That was rather disappointing especially after Osaka Castle and before the others that now we know had much more to offer inside.

From Himeji we get a train to Kobe and… did nothing. It was raining so much that we basically were waiting at Kobe station for 1.5 – 2 hours hoping it will stop (checking weather that was shifting all the time…) and finally decided to just go back to Osaka. We went back to hotel, used that time to repack a little and do some major laundries before a dinner at [Ramen Uroko](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ramen+Uroko/@34.7273279,135.1918189,60806m/data=!3m2!1e3!5s0x6000e430091802db:0x4d5addefcc3bdc98!4m10!1m2!2m1!1sRamen+Uroko!3m6!1s0x6000e430094019a7:0xab9ce3bbd5357d2e!8m2!3d34.7273279!4d135.4966895!15sCgtSYW1lbiBVcm9rbyIDiAEBWg0iC3JhbWVuIHVyb2tvkgEQcmFtZW5fcmVzdGF1cmFudOABAA!16s%2Fg%2F11b6__0ml_?authuser=0&entry=ttu).

At this point we realised that as far as most of the food we tried was at least very good – the ramen is a king of all 😛

**Day 15: 08.04.2023, Nara & TeamLab Osaka Botanical**

On that day we travelled to [Nara](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Nara,+Japan/@34.6808041,135.5408649,40206m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m9!1m2!2m1!1sRamen+Uroko!3m5!1s0x600137c578a70cc1:0x4afed9b0b9492622!8m2!3d34.685109!4d135.8048019!16zL20vMGdwNWdf?authuser=0&entry=ttu)for the whole day visiting: [Kofuku-ji](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kofuku-ji/@34.6832919,135.8326411,1434m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m9!1m2!2m1!1sRamen+Uroko!3m5!1s0x60013988b23decb3:0x11830f4737834593!8m2!3d34.682883!4d135.8322271!16zL20vMDNjc3E0?authuser=0&entry=ttu), [Todai-ji](https://www.google.com/maps/place/T%C5%8Ddai-ji/@34.6852141,135.8326587,1425m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m9!1m2!2m1!1sRamen+Uroko!3m5!1s0x600139907a0876dd:0xf890ac3f9dd53c8f!8m2!3d34.6889851!4d135.8398158!16zL20vMDJoNnR3?authuser=0&entry=ttu), [Shoso-in Shoso](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Shoso-in+Shoso/@34.6922918,135.8289637,2863m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m9!1m2!2m1!1sRamen+Uroko!3m5!1s0x6001399ca28d4ce9:0xfadc07bbadaad0b3!8m2!3d34.6918398!4d135.8385791!16zL20vMDh3eXN5?authuser=0&entry=ttu), [Todai-ji Nigatsudo](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Todai-ji+Nigatsudo+(February+Hall)/@34.6900535,135.8306087,2154m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x600139907a0876dd:0x8aa52599af1ecfa!8m2!3d34.6892747!4d135.8442433!16zL20vMGJweHp4?authuser=0&entry=ttu), and chilling with deer’s. I also bought one think that I really wanted – old teapot :). After that we went back to Osaka for the teamLab Botanical Garden Osaka – it was really cool but being there for 20/30 minutes is completely enough.

**Day 16: 09.04.2023, Okayama & Kurashiki**

Another day and trip to [Okayama](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Okayama,+Japan/@34.7338558,133.7664007,60801m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x355405712ffba04f:0x10c3802660695766!8m2!3d34.6555312!4d133.919795!16zL20vMGdwNW15?authuser=0&entry=ttu)\- mostly to visit the [Okayama Castle](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Okayama+Castle/@34.6647319,133.9331498,986m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x355406250dd61f11:0x8e7f5ecba47835ba!8m2!3d34.6651878!4d133.9360657!16zL20vMDhkNjI4?authuser=0&entry=ttu) and nearby [Korakuen](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Okayama+Korakuen/@34.6655143,133.9330809,1905m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x355406248c7c0b87:0x749df4f1143ab469!8m2!3d34.6673339!4d133.93617!16zL20vMDY3d2M3?authuser=0&entry=ttu) (amazing!). After that we went back to the Okayama Station to go to the [Kurashiki Historical Quarter](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kurashiki+Bikan+Historical+Quarter/@34.5978991,133.7726305,1893m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x355156479638dad5:0x11ce694116eb0dbe!8m2!3d34.5957392!4d133.7717651!16s%2Fg%2F1229kq8p?authuser=0&entry=ttu) \- and this was also very nice. We bought a lot of souvenirs and my wife grab some map with the main buildings marked and we were wondering to find them all 🙂

When going back to the hotel we hopped for the ramen at [Human Beings Everybody Noodles](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Human+Beings+Everybody+Noodles/@34.7255103,135.4964756,950m/data=!3m3!1e3!4b1!5s0x6000e425007dd861:0xd30dadead6b08966!4m6!3m5!1s0x6000e425aa993851:0x5914499389048559!8m2!3d34.7255059!4d135.4990505!16s%2Fg%2F1hc79btnm?authuser=0&entry=ttu) \- which was very unique for me as I took the special that was packed with sardines (as far as I can recall it right now).

**Day 17: 10.04.2023, Osaka**

Last day sleeping in Osaka, and that day was also for staying in Osaka. We went to Sumiyoshi Taisha then took a tram to reach Shi-Tennoji Buddhist Temple and Isshin-ji. At the end one last visit in Animate and also – [Human Beings Everybody Noodles](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Human+Beings+Everybody+Noodles/@34.7255103,135.4964756,950m/data=!3m3!1e3!4b1!5s0x6000e425007dd861:0xd30dadead6b08966!4m6!3m5!1s0x6000e425aa993851:0x5914499389048559!8m2!3d34.7255059!4d135.4990505!16s%2Fg%2F1hc79btnm?authuser=0&entry=ttu) 😛 – as when we were walking by there were like 2-3 people only waiting to wen in.

**Day 18: 11.04.2023: Fukuok**

As a little over half of our time passed by, we went to the [Fukuoka](https://www.google.com/maps/place/Fukuoka,+Japan/@33.6501497,130.0991643,61588m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x3541eda1e9848429:0xf60a729936398783!8m2!3d33.5901838!4d130.4016888!16zL20vMGdxa2Q?authuser=0&entry=ttu)as our next destination for a few days. We took a train around 10:00 AM from Osaka to be at the Hakata Station around 01:00 PM.
