what to expect

Hello, I’m a 17y old french-canadian boy and a few months ago I started looking into moving to Japan. Let’s get straight to the point;

what is the earliest I could move there, and with what job?

Of course, I will be here for a few more years, and so what should I study? I’ve heard of the work culture of japan and been wondering if all jobs that could land me a sponsorship would be (in other people’s words) “corporate slave” jobs? And if so, what they really entail.

These thoughts have been spinning in my mind for over 6 months now and I thought I should start seeking answers and so here I am.

Please don’t be rude if I turn out to be ignorant, because I most likely am

  2. Start by getting a university degree, it will be hard if not impossible to get a work visa without that. Can check to do a year as an exchange student while you are in university, can do a year with working holiday visa. As for what to study, you might want to study something that is in demand in Japan. Also study as much Japanese as you can.

  3. degree first , preferably something that leads to a professional job then work a few years and try a transfer?
